LOVELY SEWING

NOW SOME IMAGES OF THINGS I HAVE MADE IN THE SEWING ROOM. THIS IS A DRESS I HAD TO ALTER FOR COUPLE OF GIRLS AS BRIDESMAIDS.

THIS ONE BELOW IS THE BEGINNING OF PATRICIAS WEDDING DRESS.   IT HELPS TO TAKE A PHOTO AND LOOK AT IT TO GET AN IDEA OF THE DRAPE WORKING

OOPS SOME FAIRY TOAD STOOLS SNUCK IN

AND THE BACK VIEW OF PATRICIAS DRESS.

SOME CUSHIONS FOR AMY'S HOUSE TO MATCH HER BLACK AND GREY LOOSE COUCH COVERS

I COULD HAVE MADE A LOT !

THESE ARE SOME HAND EMBROIDERED TURKISH CUSHIONS FROM A BED-SPREAD I WAS GIVEN. THEY WERE VERY POPULAR AND I HAVE SOLD THEM ALL. JUST WITH PEOPLE WALKING PAST AND THE CUSHIONS CATCHING THEIR EYE. OH IF ONLY WE COULD FIND MORE OF THAT ELUSIVE FABRIC THAT IS POPULAR AND YOU CANT FIND MORE
AND A PIECE OF GREEK HAND WOVEN WOOL. FROM THE LOVELY GWEN

THIS IS THE NEXT BRIDESMAID DRESSES THAT I MADE FOR FOUR GIRLS . ALL THE SAME STYLE , JUST SLIGHTLY DIFFERENT BODY SHAPES.

AND THIS IS CHRISTINA . THE GIRL WITH THE AFRICAN FABRIC . SHE ASKED US TO MAKE HER A WEDDING DRESS FROM AN EMBROIDERED TABLECLOTH. EVEN THOUGH SHE HAD NO FUTURE HUSBAND YET.

AND ZARA WHO WAS A MANAGER IN THE MONTSALVAT RESTAURANT.  AMY MADE HER AN AMAZING DRESS WITH A LOWER LAYER OF LOTS OF FABRIC THAT HAD HISTORY FOR HER .INCLUDING SCHOOL DRESS FABRIC, JAPANESE SILK A PIECE OF CREAM SILK WITH PEARLS SEWN ON AND OTHER PIECES OF PRECIOUS FABRIC.

THIS WAS A DRESS FOR MARDI .I MADE TWO FOR HER WHEN SHE WENT TO BALI WITH THE GIRLS

THESE TWO PAINTINGS ARE BY DAVID MOORE. A PAINTER AT MONTSALVAT, WHO IS OBSESSED WITH AMY'S WHITE TUTU.  HE MANAGES TO SELL THE PAINTINGS FOR ABOUT FIVE OR SIX THOUSAND.WE KEEP WAITING FOR A GIFT IN THE SHAPE OF A PAINTING FOR THE USE OF THE DRESS.....Hmmmmmmmmm

A small snippet of our place

This is the shipping container as it is dropped off out the back near the pine tree.                                                                      It is twenty feet long and luckily green!

The beginnings of autumn as the elms begin to loose their leaves.
and the Guinea fowl go exploring in the leaves

They squeak and chatter as they go exploring around the yard . Totally wild but happy to stay near the house if there is food close.
Adam and Amy's friend Rob making progress on the thirteen bath tubs full of clay that need to be moved for the wedding clean up.

Sue Wells and Melitta and Shay around the new garden bed and the very fresh brick paving. The garden is dug and full of cow pooh and ready for planting.

The bricks came cleaned and free and  ready to go from the site called "free cycle" .
this is where the veggie garden used to be.You can just see Richard's mulberry tree in the back ground

More bath tub action. This is Robs blue ute.
The building of the pizza oven. It was supposed to be built for Lena's 21st but it took a while longer to happen. It has been a fun project as we have all helped and also learned to mix concrete and mortar.

. The pictures are done and more on the way, ...... maybe not in the most chronological order.
